Four things to set your mind on
Here are the four things I recommend any product developer and innovator to take to work everyday:
the helix nature of development - Product development, especially of new and innovative products, is never linear. It is a climbing helix. you visit the same things again and again with every stage of the design, improving and detailing. And yes, somethings its a rollercoaster and you slip down a turn.
Optimism - must have. You have to believe that it can be done. Even if you can't see the final product configuration until you get to the end of the climbing helix.
Realism - Accept tradeoffs. Between features; between features and costs; between the market need and the capacity of your organization.
Focus - Have a roadmap, have priorities and have patience.
